Neil Hornby- Director
Neil has nearly 30 years experience of working in a variety of secondary educational establishments. Initially as a Geography teacher, and then Head of Humanities. Neil has a Masters Degree in Special Educational Needs. He has experience of teaching and managing staff within a Community Special School. In 2007 Neil became the founder and manager at the Bridge.
As a Director Neil is responsible for fundraising, accounts and site development. Neil is also a trainer and an assessor. Neil is a coach for a variety of courses including construction, horticulture, mechanics and personal and social development.
Sue Hornby- Director
Sue has been involved at the Bridge since the start. She has a background of working in marketing within an Educational establishment. She has a Post Graduate Diploma in Management Studies and other qualifications in Organic Horticulture and Quality Assurance Award. As Director she is responsible for Internal Quality Assurance, health & safety, staff recruitment and development and safeguarding. Sue is also a trainer and an assessor. She is works as a coach in a variety of curriculum subjects.
Kathleen Barclay– Business Manager
Kath is responsible for arranging new schools and students. She sets up contracts and service level agreements with sending agencies. Kath is also involved in financial matters and marketing. She liaises with parent/carers and sending agencies and attends multi-agency meetings.
Lisa Hodson – Programmes Manager
Lisa is responsible for organising the timetable. Lisa is responsible to monitoring achievements and student progress. She also provides support to young people.
Becky Nurse – Primary Tutor and Co-ordinator
Becky teaches Primary School students both one to one and in small groups. She also supports bespoke students in a variety of curriculum subjects. Becky is responsible for liaising with potential new primary schools.
Lynn Robinson- Functional Skills Tutor
Lynn is our tutor for Maths and English working one to one or with small groups of bespoke students.
Chris works full-time as a coach for school groups completing construction courses. He also coaches bespoke students in a variety of activities, such as construction, woodwork, animal care, cookery and employability. Chris takes students off site for work experience to gain valuable construction skills on real building jobs. Chris is also responsible for site maintenance.
Jo is a part-time teacher of cookery and food hygiene courses. She works with bespoke students on skills for working life, art and craft and assists with school groups doing animal care courses.
Lisa is a coach working with school groups and bespoke students. She also has a role in supporting students with transition. She coaches bespoke students in employability, skills for working life and animal care courses, art, physical education and personal and social development.
Clare is responsible for providing animal care, skills for working life and horticulture courses with school groups. She also coaches bespoke students in animal care courses and personal and social development.
Richard is a coach working with school groups and bespoke students. He coaches bespoke students in skills for working life and practical skills.
Sarah is a full-time coach working with bespoke students. She coaches bespoke students in skills for working life and English.
Judith Baker – Exams Officer
Judi is responsible for work related to students obtaining qualifications. She is also involved in the running of the shop and financial matters.
Diane Hancock – Centre Administrator
Diane is the receptionist and the administrator responsible for record keeping and overseeing day to day procedures. She also helps maintain the running of the shop and oversees the volunteers.
