Skills for Working Life

This course is available for school groups of students who come once a week to work towards this useful certificate. Our bespoke students also have opportunity to work towards a skills for working life certificate in an area of their individual skill and interest. This is an entry level qualification.

Units are available in the following areas: animal care, horse care, agricultural animals, poultry, conservation, horticulture, floristry, hospitality, catering and retail, vehicle maintenance, recycling, construction, woodwork, pottery, metalwork, painting and decorating and information technology.

Students also learn useful information about health and safety in the work place.

 

Employability Skills Qualification

Our bespoke students can work towards and gain a employability skills qualification is at entry level – level 1.

Students learn skills, such as writing a CV.

Employability Skills qualifications are designed to support an individual successfully gaining a job, progressing in a chosen field, preparing the individual for further study and supporting the development of techniques required for successful independent living.

These qualifications are aimed at anyone who wants to live a more independent life, progress in education and/or their employment prospects; get into a job, develop on the job or move onto the next job.

Students are supported individually based on their employment interest, such as working in early years, health and social care and construction.

Students also have opportunity to gain retail experience as they operate the till and serve customers in our farm shop.
